Since 1842, New Haven’s Irish Community has been striding through the streets; banner in hand, to bring cheer to Saint Patrick’s Day. The long-standing revelries are noted as the sixth oldest parade in the country, the largest single-day event in the state, and most importantly a parade that is not to be missed. Head to downtown New Haven on March 11 at 1:30 pm for bands, brews and more than a few instances of green. Cheer on the merriment made possible via year-round fundraisers and dedicated volunteers, as they march down Chapel Street.
