Bushnell Park is a wonderful place for your family to enjoy the afternoon and spend some quality time together, and even better for some photo ops! In the midst of the city lies this beautiful park, which seems almost its own world within the world, theatrical yet peaceful. A landmark in the park is the vintage 1914 carousel that, for just one dollar, you can ride on for three and a half minutes. Snap pictures while your kids hold on tight, and enjoy simple fun. The Pump House Gallery is composed of stone from defunct bridges. Now a pump house and art gallery, it feature exhibits by local arts and is the only public gallery located in a municipal park in the state of Connecticut. The cottage style of the pump house makes a beautiful backdrop for pictures. Other sites include the pond, the “Harmony” statue, the arboretum full of rare trees, the fountain, the Arch and State Capitol building. In fact, there is so much to see at the park, and so many different scenic views, that you can let each story unfold as a new picture develops.

Kids will love exploring the fossil tracks from millions of years ago, and their excitement is something you’ll want to capture. While the kids are having fun reliving Jurassic days, you can have your picture-perfect moments on the nature trails and in the arboretum, which includes various plants from the age of dinosaurs. The kids will have fun and surely will learn a thing or two, and you’ll have it all to remember.
