If you’re new to the sport of golf or are looking for a place to play 18 holes of golf without breaking the bank, Keney Golf Course in Hartford is the perfect place to go. One of only two public courses in Hartford, Keney offers a “no frills” golfing experience. Cost is low – about $20 for a game if you’re a Connecticut resident and $30 if you’re not. Tee times can be scheduled about a week in advance. The course is kept in good condition, and golf carts are not required.

The great value you get from The Long Hill Country Club in East Hartford makes it one of the best golf courses around Hartford. For 18 holes of golf, you can expect to pay approximately $19 to $30 depending on the day and residency. Golf carts are optional and will cost you extra. Tee times can be reserved up to one week in advance.

If prestige is what you’re looking, The Rockledge Golf Course in West Hartford is for you. One of two public golf courses in West Hartford, Rockledge will cost about $35 on the weekends if you’re a Connecticut resident and about $40 if you’re not. Golf carts are optional. Tee times can be reserved up to one week in advance if you plan on golfing during the week. For weekend golf, you can reserve a time three days in advance. What makes Rockledge one of the best around Hartford, in addition to the green, is the on-site restaurant Angelo’s. This restaurant is popular with every crowd – including those who don’t golf.

What makes Gillette Ridge Golf Club in Bloomfield one of the best golf courses around Hartford is its challenging layout. Designed by legendary golfer and world-renowned architect Arnold Palmer, this 18-hole course is for experienced golfers. The course offers four tees – black, gold, silver and bronze. This course, however, will empty your wallet quickly. It costs about $85 for 18 holes of golf on the weekends and about $70 during the week. Golf carts are required, but they are also included in the price. Tee reservations can be reserved up to one week in advance. The course also has a lounge and a restaurant.

The design of Wintonbury Hills Golf Course in Bloomfield makes it one of the best golf courses around Hartford. Designed by Peter Dye, this course has won a number of awards including one of the Top 10 Best Golf Courses in Connecticut by Golf Digest. Greens fees are pricey, however. On the weekend, you can expect to pay around $79 and during the week about $69 if you are not a resident. Residents of Bloomfield receive a very generous discount and pay only between $35 and $40. Tee times can be reserved about eight days in advance.
