Who doesn’t love candy?  Whether it’s chocolate, taffy, gummies or lollypops, we all have a favorite treat, which we need to satisfy our sweet tooth from time to time.  There are a wide variety of excellent Candy shops scattered throughout the state but here is a list of some our favorites to visit next time you need your sugar fix!

Originally located in Norwalk, Sweet Rexie’s moved in 2009 and now resides in the heart of downtown Fairfield and offers a wide variety of traditional and nostalgic candies which can be purchased by the pound.  They offer more than 200 hundred varieties of sweets to enjoy and can design the perfect gift basket of treats for your next occasion.  Sweet Rexie’s also sells gifts, party favors, kid’s clothing and has a full service Ice cream Parlor inside their shop!

Wanda’s Sugar Shack has been a staple in town for over 37 years.  The location has changed a couple of times, due to fire and flooding but Wanda’s has been going strong at this location since 2000.  The shop is filled with hundreds of classic candies and newly created treats.  The shop also sells a wide selection of candy making equipment and supplies.  Wanda’s Sugar Shack owner, Wanda Hornack suggests trying the original Turkish Taffy, which has returned to her shop after nearly 15 years, or her very own chocolate covered bacon which is the hottest seller of the summer.
