Bring your appetite to the Taste of Mystic! Featuring over 30 restaurants, Historic Downtown Mystic will be the place to be on September 9 to 11 for an explosion of culinary delights. Last year’s goodies ranged from honey cilantro shrimp to pad Thai with chicken satay. Additionally, don’t miss live performances by musicians such as The Cartells, the Kevin Crandbell Band, High Times, Flowers and Kain, and Mind Body and Soul. Now established as a local staple of community entertainment and family fun, the Taste of Mystic is surely an event you won’t want to miss. Built over 250 years ago, the Captain Daniel Packer Inne is a quaint restaurant and pub known for its exceptional, classic food and live music. During the summer season, DPI has fresh local seafood specials prepared daily. Try out some of their pub foods, which include: scrumptious calamari, plump grilled mussels, fish n chips, the juicy captain burger, or the always satisfying po’ boy. Proud to serve “real food for real people,” RiverWalk Restaurant features a fairly relaxed and casual atmosphere complete with outdoor seating and live music. The shrimp cocktail appetizer is counted as a popular favorite, while the spicy shrimp appetizer is equally heralded as a noteworthy. A family favorite, The Portuguese Fisherman may sport a weathered outside appearance, but don’t judge a book by its cover. Not only are prices extremely reasonable, but the food is satisfyingly sumptuous. Famous for breakfast and brunch, one of the main meal attractions seems to be the Portuguese Sweet-Bread French Toast.
