Manning Throws 5 Interceptions, Seattle Dismantles New York 23-0

The Seattle Seahawks came to the Big Apple looking to maintain its position as the top seed in the NFC playoff hunt. The New York Giants had very little to play for, since they were eliminated from playoff contention last week. Seattle dominated New York defensively and shut out the G-men, 23-0, in a lackluster affair at MetLife Stadium.

Giants Wilson & Rogers Go To IR, Kuhn & Brown Activated

A disappointing 2013 season came to a premature end for New York Giants halfback David Wilson yesterday. The second year player from Virginia Tech was placed on season-ending injured reserve by the G-men, who activated running back Andre Brown from the injured list as well. Meanwhile, the Oakland Raiders running back Darren McFadden sat out practice with a pulled hamstring and looks unlikely to play on Sunday.

New York Giants: 5 Players That Need To Improve In Second Half Of Season

The New York Football Giants had their worst start since 1976, and the team did not get its first win until Week 7 of the regular season. After beating the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football, the G-men went down to Philadelphia and defeated the Eagles 15-7 to complete their first half at 2-6. With eight games remaining, including three with division rivals, Dallas and Washington, New York still has eyes on a division title. Here are five players who will need to be productive in order for the Giants to compete.

First Half Studs & Duds For The New York Giants

The New York Giants have gotten off to their worst since 1976, yet at 2-6, the team does still have its sights set on an NFC East title. But in order to have a second half turnaround, some players will have to raise their performance, and others will have to maintain their first half pace.

Giants Contain Peterson, Top Vikings 23-7 For First Win

Josh Freeman’s debut as a Viking was the boost that the New York Football Giants needed as the G-men snapped their six game losing streak with a 23-7 victory over Minnesota. New York’s initial victory of the 2013 campaign was not a thing of beauty, but the Giants were able to hold Adrian Peterson to a mere 28 yards rushing, requiring Freeman to raise the level of his play to a level that the league had not seen in several years. Freeman was not able to come through; completing only 38 percent of his passes on the evening.

Kansas City Chiefs Rout Hapless New York Giants 31-7

The New York Giants came into Sunday’s away contest against the Kansas City Chief winless at 0-3 and just off the worst loss in head coach Tom Coughlin’s tenure at the helm. Last week’s 38-0 loss to the Carolina Panthers continued a downward spiral that has seen poor pass protection, turnovers and lack of a running game. Meanwhile, through three games the Kansas City Chiefs led the NFL with a (+13) turnover margin. KC linebacker Justin Houston lead the NFL with 7.5 sacks, so the matchups were potentially disastrous for New York. The Giants hung around early but turnovers and special teams ineffectiveness doomed New York as the Chiefs pulled away late for a 31-7 victory.
