Metro North Inspects Tracks In Wake Of Derailment

Metro-North has hired an outside firm to review its track maintenance and inspection programs following last month’s derailment outside of Bridgeport.

NTSB Releases Derailment Report

The National Transportation Safety Board released a preliminary report Wednesday, detailing the conditions that led up to the Metro-North train derailment May 17 in Bridgeport.

Engineer Saw ‘Unusual Condition’ Before Derailment

Federal officials investigating last week’s train derailment in Connecticut say the engineer described what they call an “unusual condition” on the track before the train derailed.
