Giants Contain Peterson, Top Vikings 23-7 For First Win

Josh Freeman’s debut as a Viking was the boost that the New York Football Giants needed as the G-men snapped their six game losing streak with a 23-7 victory over Minnesota. New York’s initial victory of the 2013 campaign was not a thing of beauty, but the Giants were able to hold Adrian Peterson to a mere 28 yards rushing, requiring Freeman to raise the level of his play to a level that the league had not seen in several years. Freeman was not able to come through; completing only 38 percent of his passes on the evening.

The New York Giants lost their sixth straight contest by falling to the Chicago Bears, 27-21, on Thursday night, dropping Big Blue to 0-6 on the season.
