The Troop D Quality of Life Task Force, along with help from a member of the Brooklyn Resident Troopers Office, stopped a rental car with North Carolina license plates off Route 12 in Killingly just before 6:30pm on Saturday. After the operator of the vehicle consented to a search, investigators found about 22lbs. of synthetic marijuana that was packaged in 1,300 bags for bulk sale. Authorities believe the substance has an estimated street value of $20,000. Cash totaling $3,000 was also found in the vehicle.
