The New York Giants (0-6) quest for their first victory of the regular season continues on Monday night, as the team plays host to the Minnesota Vikings (1-4) at the Meadowlands. New York has had a solid ten days off after their 27-21 defeat to the hands of the Chicago Bears, but the time off may not have helped their injury situation. The Vikings got run out of their own building on Sunday, losing 35-10 to the Carolina Panthers, and have designated recently signed quarterback Josh Freeman as their starter against the G-men.
The Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants are each desperate for a victory on Sunday, so any advantage can prove helpful. With that in mind, this week’s injury report hands a decided advantage to the Eagles, which shows only two players on it. Meanwhile, the New York Giants had eight players who did not practice, in addition to the pending trade of Jon Beason to work with heading into week five.
The Kansas City Chiefs sport an unblemished (3-0) record, while the New York Giants are a winless (0-3). The Chiefs were able to put away Andy Reid’s former club, the Philadelphia Eagles 26-16 last Thursday night. The Giants suffered through a 38-0 embarrassment at the hands of the Carolina Panthers that left the team battered and bruised, especially on the offensive line.
