Rhode Island Bishop: Mandela’s Support For Abortion ‘Shameful’

Bishop: ‘It Is A Demand Of The Gospel’ To Speak Out About Abortion, Gay Marriage

Bishop Thomas Tobin of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Providence, known for his activism against legalizing same-sex marriage and taking on politicians who support abortion rights, struck a conciliatory tone Friday, a week after he was quoted as saying he was “a little bit disappointed” Pope Francis hadn’t addressed abortion since being elected six months ago.
