Bridge Safety Measures Sought After Baby Thrown To His Death

After a 7-month-old boy was thrown to his death last month, local officials have been considering safety improvements for a 90-foot-high span over the Connecticut River that has been known for decades as a destination for suicidal people.

Arrigoni Bridge Work Begins This Month

The Arrigoni Bridge over the Connecticut River between Middletown and Portland will be reduced from four lanes to two for about 18 months starting June 28, as crews replace the deck of the bridge, which dates to 1938.
