Greatest Hail Marys in Football HistoryA 63-yard connection gave Florida a win against Tennessee, and it will go down as one of the most memorable plays in school history. But does it rank among the greatest Hail Mary finishes in football history?
Joe D's Notebook: Scouting The CavaliersMuch like UConn in 2016, Virginia struggled. The Cavaliers were just 2-10 in the first year under Bronco Mendenhall, who surprised many by leaving BYU to come to Charlottesville. Like the Huskies, who endured a six game losing streak to end the season, Virginia lost its final seven games.
Joe D's Notebook: Onto VirginiaAfter an unexpected Saturday off, the UConn football team is ready…and anxious…to swing back into action Saturday with their first road game of the season against Virginia. The Huskies practiced for two hours on Saturday instead of playing for three and a half ,then got back into a normal game week prep on Sunday.
Joe D's Notebook: Damn IrmaThis was supposed to be a preview of USF and Saturday’s game with UConn. But, as you know by now, Mother Nature has gotten in the way. In the interest of the safety of the USF travel party getting back to Tampa on Saturday, the game has been cancelled. Yes, it is disappointing, especially for the UConn seniors who miss out on one more opportunity to play in front of the home fans at The Rent. Randy Edsall always talks about a game being one of 12 opportunities. Well, one of those opportunities is gone. And it’s disappointing for

Randy Edsall made changes after week one of the UConn Football season after Thursday’s narrow win against Holy Cross. The biggest change comes at quarterback where Bryant Shirreffs rescued a slumbering UConn offense by leading the Huskies to three second half touchdowns to rally UConn from a 20-7 deficit. Edsall said the fifth year senior
Edsall Appeals Ruling That Found Hiring of Son Was ImproperThe University of Connecticut and football coach Randy Edsall are appealing a ruling by the state's ethics office that the school violated Connecticut's ban on nepotism by hiring Edsall's son as an assistant coach.
Joe D's Notebook: Holy Cross - The RecapFor 43 minutes Thursday night, it looked like the UConn Football would get off to a disastrous start. Holy Cross was dominating the Huskies and held a 20-7 lead. The return of Randy Edsall was not going well. Then, things changed with the insertion of senior quarterback Bryant Shirreffs into the lineup. The heretofore lethargic offense went 53 yard in 78 seconds to get within six points. The defense produced a three and out and Shirreffs marched the Huskies 59 yards in 8 plays and threw a perfectly executed touchdown pass to Hergy Mayala to give Connecticut a lead it wouldn’t lose in an eventual 27-20 season opening win.
