“Pet Talk” airs Saturdays from 2-3pm and addresses both pet health and behavior issues on alternating Saturdays. Doctors Andrea Dennis and Eva Ceranowicz from the Bloomfield Animal Hospital are ready to answer your pet health questions and Laure Fass can assist with pet behavior issues. http://www.bloomfieldanimalhospitalct.com Dr. Eva Ceranowicz Eva Ceranowicz is a Connecticut native, having grown up in Waterbury, who had the childhood ambition of becoming a veterinarian. She is a University of Connecticut graduate, with an undergraduate degree in pathobiology, and received her veterinary degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has practiced small animal medicine in Connecticut since 1990, and has been with Dr. Andrea Dennis at the Bloomfield Animal Hospital since 1997. Dr. Ceranowicz has served on the board of directors of the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA), and is a past President of the association where she is actively involved in educational program development and government relations. Dr. Ceranowicz is also a past president of the Hartford County Veterinary Medical Association (HCVMA) and is active in the UConn Alumni Association, having served on committees for the Strategic Plan and Commitment to Diversity. She is, of course a Husky fan. Dr. Ceranowicz lives in West Suffield with her husband, Dr. Andrew Wakefield, a neurosurgeon who practices in Hartford, and their son, Zachary. They met working at the Greater Hartford Veterinary Emergency Hospital while students at UConn, and have both brought numerous pets home over the years. Their current animal population of 2 dogs and 3 cats and the occasional field mouse is an all-time low for them. Dr. Andrea Dennis Dr. Dennis has wanted to be a veterinarian since she was 9 years old, growing up in Hartford, Connecticut. As an undergraduate in Animal Science, Dr. Dennis attended Cornell University and the University of Connecticut. She received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Tuskegee University in Alabama, graduating with summa cum laude honors. Following Tuskegee, she performed her internship/residency at the University of California-Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Dennis founded the Bloomfield Animal Hospital in 1992, which remains a thriving practice. She has been a long time member of the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA) where she currently serves on the Executive Board of Directors. Dr. Dennis served on the University of Connecticut Board of Trustees from 2003-2011, as well as President of the UConn Alumni Association from 1997-1999. In her spare time, Dr. Dennis enjoys running and attending UConn sporting events. She is married to Randy LaVigne, a former UConn basketball and baseball standout and current member of the Bloomfield Animal Hospital team. Together they have a son, Justin, who serves as a production assistant for the Pet Talk radio show, and a deeply loved Bouvier desFlandres rescue dog named “Jack”. Laurie Fass Laurie Fass has had a life long interest and love of in animals. She has been helping pet owners professionally since 1975 when she founded her business; Dog Training and Counseling Service. Over the years Laurie has owner a wide array of pets mostly dogs and cats, but also birds, and various rodents and reptiles. Her career as a dog trainer/ behaviorist began after acquiring a difficult problem dog of her own. Recognizing people’s need to work out similar problems Laurie completed a professional dog trainer program at Captain Haggerty’s School for Dogs. Since that time Laurie has helped over 6,000 dogs and dog owners representing more than 150 different breeds. In addition to her interest in helping dog owners, she is also a consultant for cat behavior problems.
