HealthCare Matters is a monthly, radio series that aims to further the conversation about health care: what works, what doesn’t work– and how do we bridge the gap. We have tapped the nation’s experts to be guest on our program, including David Blumenthal, MD, MPP who served as the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology under President Barack Obama. We want to start the conversation and help change the way that health care is delivered. Today, health care in the United States is costly and fragmented. According to the Commonwealth Fund and Organization for Economic Development, the United States ranks sixth among seven developed nations (Australia, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand and the United Kingdom) in quality of care and care coordination and seventh in cost, efficiency and equity of care.
