EgyptAir Selects Pratt Engines For Aircraft Order

DUBAI (CBS Connecticut) – EgyptAir has selected Pratt and Whitney’s PurePower geared turbofan engine to power up to 24 Bombardier CS300 aircraft.

The deal, announced at the Dubai Airshow Tuesday, includes 12 passenger jets, with purchase rights for 12 more.

Pratt, based in East Hartford, says the engine can reduce fuel consumption by up to 16 percent.

Deliveries are expected to begin in 2018.
