Doctor Sentenced In Killing Of Yale Physician

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) – A doctor convicted of killing a Yale University physician over a workplace dispute has been sentenced to 32 years in prison.

A Connecticut judge handed down the punishment Friday to Lishan Wang for the 2010 shooting death of Dr. Vajinder Toor. He pleaded no contest in June to manslaughter and other charges.

Prosecutors say the Chinese citizen killed Toor and shot at but missed Toor’s pregnant wife outside the couple’s Branford home. Authorities say the shooting
stemmed from a 2008 workplace dispute at a New York City hospital.

Toor’s widow says the sentence was not fair and her loss can never be replaced.

Wang has been under a judge’s order to be forcibly medicated against his will to treat his mental illness.
