State Police: Three In Custody After Pursuit That Started In Springfield

HARTFORD, Conn. (CBS Connecticut) – State police say three suspects are in custody following a pursuit on Interstate 91 that began Tuesday morning in Springfield and ended in Hartford near the interchange with Interstate 84.

Police say the suspect vehicle struck at least four police cruisers from Connecticut and Massachusetts. No injuries were reported.

Springfield, Massachusetts police say the chase began around 11 a.m., when an officer tried to stop the driver of a car wanted on an active gun warrant and the car took off.

A helicopter in Massachusetts, which was initially up for an unrelated bank robbery, joined the pursuit, said police.

Police say a replica gun was found in the car after state police brought the chase to an end at Exit 32.
