DEEP: Four Swimming Areas Closed Due To Poor Water Quality

HARTFORD, Conn. (CBS Connecticut) – The swimming areas at four state parks are closed because of poor water quality today.

The Department of Energy & Environmental Protection says high bacteria levels have shut down the swimming areas at Silver Sands in Milford, Indian Well in Shelton, and Lake Waramaug in Kent.

Blue green algae blooms are to blame for the closure at Kettletown State Park in Southbury.
