NEWTOWN, Conn. (AP) _ A Connecticut man has been charged with making bombs.
Police say Larry Bailey was arrested last week on a warrant charging him with manufacture of bombs and other offenses. Court records show Bailey pleaded not guilty to the charges at his arraignment in Danbury on Friday. His bail was set at $75,000 bail.
The investigation began in March. Police say officers responding to a call from Bailey found what appeared to be two pipe bombs at his Newtown home.
Police say the devices were removed and taken to a safe location where they were destroyed. The devices were found to be “very likely improvised explosive devices (IEDs) or pipe bombs.”
Police say other items were found in the home that confirmed Bailey made the bombs.
