(CBS Connecticut) — A Southbury man was killed when his Volvo S80 went off of I-84 westbound in Waterbury and hit a rock embankment.

State Police say Sevdi Coma’s car began to spin, while taking a curve in the highway near exit 17.

After hitting the embankment, the car rolled over.

Coma was not using a seatbelt. He was thrown out of the car.

Coma was 48-years-old.

There were a number of traffic crashes around the state last night, as rain moved through.
