Molly Rees Gavin, President of Connecticut Community Care, talks Older Americans Month.
May is Older Americans Month and the theme this year is Age Out Loud. Molly says what older Americans are doing and the role they plan in society is important and needs to be recognized. Molly says Older Americans month is a holiday near and dear to the hearts of those at Connecticut Community Care because most of them served in the community are over the age of 65.
Molly says at any given time Connecticut Community Care has nine thousand they are helping along with the individual’s family so that person can stay in their home. She says there are people in their 90’s with children in their 70’s and grand children in their 50’s where the entire family is aging and could be in need of assistance. She says that is a challenge.
Molly was among those featured in the Hartford Courant 60 over 60 supplement for her work.
