HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Many schools across Connecticut are closed or delaying their start times as the state is hit by a wintry mix of snow, sleet and rain.
The National Weather Service says two to four inches of snow could accumulate Monday, along with some ice. The northwest corner of the state in Litchfield County is expected to get the worst of it, with three to six inches expected.
Heavier snow is expected to continue and gradually change to rain, with the possibility of freezing rain along the way.
That is expected to cause hazardous driving conditions.
Several flights have been canceled or delayed at Bradley International Airport.
The weather service also says there could also be minor tidal flooding in low-lying areas along Long Island Sound.
