MILFORD, Conn. (CBS Connecticut) – Milford police say two men are under arrest and they were looking for a third following a police chase which ended on Interstate 95 early Wednesday with a suspect vehicle crashing into a police SUV.
The men are suspected of stealing power tools and other items from sheds and garages. A call from an alert resident about a suspicious van drew police to the area of upper Naugatuck Avenue around 4:40 a.m., said police. The van fled with police in pursuit– later crashing into a police vehicle in the area of Exit 39 on I-95.
Police say the suspects made a run for it into a marshy area. Two were apprehended; a third was able to escape.
Kelvin Quintero, 20, and Noel Figueroa-Flores, 20, both of New Haven, face third-degree larceny, third-degree conspiracy to commit larceny, third-degree burglary, third-degree conspiracy to commit burglary and interfering with arrest.
Police were still searching for a third suspect, described as a White or Hispanic male wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
No serious injuries were reported in the incident.
