Police: Shots Fired In Domestic Incident

(New Britain, Conn./CBS Connecticut) – A man is being held after New Britian police say he was involved in some type of domestic disturbance this morning in which shots were fired.

The victim reported being kicked, punched and pistol whipped after 2 o’clock this morning by 24-year-old Craig Salva.

The victim wasn’t struck by any of the rounds discharged and medical attention on scene was declined.

Salva took off but was later captured in Durham with assistance from Central Connecticut State University and State Police.

He faces multiple charges including assault, disorderly conduct, criminal attempt at assault, threatening, unlawful discharge of a firearm, reckless endangerment, and breach of peace.

Bond was set at a million dollars and Salva is due in court Wednesday in New Britain.
