(Westport, Conn./CBS Connecticut) – Westport police are charging a New Haven woman after they she she ripped off a man on their first date.
It was back in August that police say 27-year-old Katherine Stonick allegedly used the man’s credit card to purchase a $300 gift card from Finalmente Trattoria restaurant in town.
The victim paid for the meal with his credit card, after which, police say, Stonick excused herself to use the restroom and, unbeknownst to the victim had the manager charge a gift card to the victim.
Police say Stonick then returned to the restaurant on consecutive days to use the gift card she fraudulently purchased.
The victim was able to provide police with Stonick’s license plate number and was able to pick her out of a photo lineup.
Stonick faces charges of illegal use of a credit card and larceny. She’s free on $10,000 bond pending an October 26 court date.
