EAST HARTFORD, Conn. (CBS Connecticut) – The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Connecticut is in the business of making wishes come true for children with life-threatening illnesses– even the unusual request of six-year-old  Michael Nguyen of East Hartford.

While many children request a trip or to meet a famous person, Michael, who is battling leukemia, simply wanted to meet his grandparents, who live in Vietnam.

Wtih the help of Connecticut U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal, Make-A-Wish obtained the necessary visas for Michael’s grandparents to come to Connecticut.

They’re now getting to know Michael for the first time in person. Before their recent arrival, they had only spoken to their grandson on the phone.

  1. Debby Desrocher says:

Beautiful story, beautiful boy. Make a wish is a wonderful organization.
