Arrest Made In Home Invasion

(NEW LONDON,Conn./CBS Connecticut)  –  New London Police have made an arrest in an early Friday morning home invasion. Officers were called to  48 Crystal Avenue  shortly after 2 am and found two victims of a home invasion inside an apartment with non-life threatening injuries.

During the investigation , police learned  34 year old Talala Holder, who lives in the building,kicked open the door of an occupied apartment and attacked the two people inside.At one point, police say, Holder picked up a  grilling-type fork and attempted to stab  both victims,he managed  to strike one victim with the fork and the victim was able to fight off Holder and get him out of the apartment,The victim  sustained small cuts to the arms from the fork.As Holder was in the hallway fighting with the victim, he managed to strike  and kick the second victim who was helping get him out of the apartment,

Holder was  found on the  fifth floor  and was taken into custody, He is charged with Home invasion and  Assault in the Second Degree.

Police say  it was an isolated incident  and no threat to the public at large.
