Clown Mask Spawns Lockdown, Arrests In New Britain

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (CBS Connecticut) – New Britain police say a vehicle beeping its horn and blasting music on the New Britain High School campus contained a passenger wearing a clown mask– prompting an hour-long lockdown at the school Thursday morning.

Police say Johnston Cox, 39, of Windsor was wearing the mask and Mary Vega, 35, of New Britain was driving the vehicle. Both have been charged with second-degree breach of peace.

Police were stationed outside the school for the balance of the day.
