Woman Facing Heroin Charges After Traffic Stop

(Pomfret, Conn./CBS Connecticut) – State Police are charging a woman after a traffic stop Tuesday evening turned into a heroin investigation.

A little after 6 p.m., troopers with the Quality of Life Task Force stopped the vehicle with three people inside for a number of motor vehicle violations as it turned on to Day Road in Pomfret.

Troopers say they became suspicious when they recognized two of the passengers from a narcotics warrant executed in Thompson over the summer.

One of the passengers, 19-year-old Margaret Williams of Thompson, admitted having heroin on her, according to police.

Agents say they seized a small block of heroin and placed Williams under arrest.

She’s being charged with possession, was processed and released on $2,500 bond.

Williams is due in Danielson Superior Court October 26.
