(Hartford, Conn./CBS Connecticut) – Governor Dannel Malloy and legislative leaders have reached an agreement regarding who will maintain the historic Old State House.
The responsibility will now fall to the Office of Legislative Management.
Earlier this year, management of the Old State House was transferred from OLM to the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
However, when it became apparent the transfer was more complex than originally envisioned, the Old State House was shut down in June pending an agreement.
DEEP Commissioner Rob Klee and OLM Executive Director Jim Tracy signed the deal returning the Old State House to the auspices of OLM.
The move allows DEEP to transfer a $400,000 appropriation to OLM for management and maintenance of the Old State House, allowing it to reopen on a limitied basis.
