Clown Posting Threat Arrests Made

(Naugatuck,Conn./CBS Connecticut)  –  Naugatuck Police have arrested two juveniles in connection with “clown” social media posts made Monday. Both are girls and both are 14 years old. They have been charged with Disorderly Conduct and Conspiracy to Commit Disorderly Conduct.

The arrests stem from a social media profile by the name of “Jackson the Clown” with a posting “Will be in Naugatuck/Be careful/Lock your doors/ which school wanna go first?” The posts were made with various photos of clowns attached.

Police say the posts made by the teens Monday led in part to the decision to have police officers at each Naugatuck school Tuesday as a precaution and an added safety measure.

The Naugatuck Police investigation into the  social media clown postings is ongoing. Anyone with information regarding these incidents is asked to contact the Naugatuck Police Department at 203-729-5221 or the Naugatuck Police Department Confidential Tip Line at 203-720-1010.
