Woman Dead In Old Saybrook Crash

(Old Saybrook, Conn./CBS Connecticut) – A woman is dead following a one-vehicle crash and Old Saybrook police are investigating.

The 22-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say they responded just after 10:30 Friday night to Middlesex Turnpike and Bokum Road.

Two officers attempted to pull the victim from the vehicle, which had caught fire.

The officers were treated at Middlesex Medical Center and later released.

That portion of roadway was shut for about five hours, re-opening early this morning.

Police say the vehicle hit a tree.

There’s no word yet on a cause of the crash andOld Saybrook police ask anyone with any information to give them a call..
