Winter Storm Warnings Overnight Into Wednesday: Litchfield, Hartford, Tolland, Windham Counties Read More

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (CBS Connecticut) – Middletown police are seeking information on a “suspicious” vehicle that approached children at a bus stop.

Police say a man driving a small silver or gray SUV approached children waiting for a bus Thursday morning on East Street in the Westfield section of the city and asked if they wanted candy. On Friday, police say he drove by children waiting at the bus stop, slowly turned around, and drove away.

Police say the Board of Education has been notified. They are asking anyone witnessing similar incidents to report them by calling 860-638-4000.

Police are also asking parents to remind their children to not take anything from strangers; do not go near or in unknown vehicles, and find the closest trusted adult if a stranger approaches.
