WESTPORT, Conn. (CBS Connecticut and AP) – Connecticut State Police say one person was killed in a fiery accident involving a tanker truck and at least one other vehicle along Interstate 95 in Westport.

The crash occurred around 6 p.m. Wednesday on the southbound side of I-95 between exits 17 and 18.

The tanker truck reportedly veered off the highway, overturned and burst into flames after landing on its roof. Police say the body of 67-year-old Thomas Reynolds of Woodbury was pulled from the vehicle just after 2:30 a.m. Thursday.

State police say the driver of the other vehicle, Ramses Rival, 35, of Stamford was arrested for driving under the influence.

Southbound lanes were reopened to traffic around 6 a.m.
