Police: Teen Sent Improper Emails From Teacher’s Account

OLD LYME, Conn. (CBS Connecticut and AP) – A 15-year-old high school student in Connecticut is facing charges after police say he sent inappropriate emails from a teacher’s email account.

Connecticut State Police announced on Monday they had arrested the boy, whose name hasn’t been released. He is a student at Old Lyme High School.

Police say the Old Lyme High School teacher’s account was accessed on Sept. 7, and inappropriate emails were sent from the account. Police didn’t elaborate on the content of the emails or say to whom they were sent.

Troopers identified a suspect during the investigation and were granted search warrants for email accounts.

The boy was arrested Sept. 22. He’s charged with fifth-degree computer crimes, second-degree harassment and breach of peace.
