(East Haven, Conn./CBS Connecticut) – There’s been another arrest in connection with a crash in East Haven last week that left a woman dead and a teenager injured.

Police have arrested 28-year-old Sara Montano for hindering prosecution.

Those investigating the crash that left 27-year-old Gaitana Girgenti dead and a 17-year-old injured say Montano initially told them she did not know the whereabouts of the suspect and driver, 23-year-old Johnassis Melendez.

Detectives later determined that Montano did, in fact, know where Melendez was and she later admitted to transporting him to the northern part of the state.

Police say Melendez fled the scene of the September 14 crash on Frontage Road on foot.  He was arrested last Saturday.

Montano is being held on $25,000 bond and is due in court in New Haven October 5.
