HARTFORD, Conn. (CBS Connecticut) – The Connecticut Mission of Mercy, which offers free dental care to those who can’t afford it, set up shop Friday morning at the XL Center in Hartford.
Project co-chair Dr. Bruce Tandy said they expect to treat 2,200 people during the two-day event, which also runs Saturday. “We usually have approximately 250 dentists, and another 250 dental hygienists and dental assistants. They take part in not only cleanings and fillings [but] x-rays and dental education.”
The event is facilitated by the Connecticut Foundation for Dental Outreach, and the XL Center is expected to be filled for most of the day Friday and Saturday.
