Middletown To Hold ‘Run For the Fallen’ Saturday

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (CBS Connecticut) – Those Connecticut residents who lost their lives in recent conflicts in the Middle East are being remembered this weekend in Middletown.

The 7th annual Run for the Fallen CT event will be held Saturday at Veterans Memorial Park in Middletown.  The run consists of one kilometer for each of the 65 service members from Connecticut, who lost their lives in the recent wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.  At each kilometer marker, there will be a short pause to read off the name of the person who that kilometer is being run for.

Following the last lap, a formal dedication ceremony will take place at the Trees of Honor Memorial in the park.  One tree will be planted for each of the 65 fallen Connecticut service members.
