MERIDEN, Conn. (CBS Connecticut) – Meriden police say the director of the Meriden Humane Society has been arrested for allegedly forging the rabies vaccination certificate of an animal adopted by a member of the public.

Police say they’ve been investigating the matter since April 2015, when they started getting reports of misconduct.

On Wednesday, Marlena DiBianco turned herself in on a charge of second-degree forgery, said police. She is free on a promise to appear in court on September 20.

  1. Ellen says:

This is so bogus.Veterinarians use a stamp to take the place of their signature on the certificates because they sign so many. They are trying to accuse her of swiping one of those stamps. I find it a strange coincidence that the police officer that signed the warrant for her arrest just happens to be the boyfriend of a woman that the Humane Society fired from her job. Meriden is a messy little corrupt town but its a little town and everyone knows everyone else business. This is common knowledge.
