NEW HAVEN, Conn. (CBS Connecticut and AP) – State police are investigating an officer-involved shooting in New Haven. Police say one person was injured in the Tuesday morning shooting, but is expected to survive.

A robbery suspect was shot by New Haven police following a chase early Monday morning.  Police say 50-year-old Kenneth Palmieri accelerated his vehicle as two officers approached him on foot in the parking lot of a housing project on Church Street near Columbus Street.

Palmieri reportedly ran two police cruisers, before one of the officers shot him in the arm.  He suffered a non life threatening injury.  No officers were injured.  Palmieri is wanted in connection with robberies in Guilford, and on Church Street in New Haven.
