WEST HAVEN, Conn. (CBS Connecticut) – West Haven police have discovered hundreds of marijuana plants growing behind a licensed daycare facility.

Officers made the discovery Friday during a compliance inspection at a daycare facility at 159 Norfolk Street, said police. The approximately 600 plants, standing 6 to 10 feet tall, were behind a newly-erected fence.

The facility was shut down by city housing inspectors and the daycare license revoked, said authorities. Arrests are expected.
