North Stonington, CT. (CBS Connecticut) State Police Detectives from Eastern District Major Crime are investigating an armed robbery at the Xtra Mart in North Stonington. Detectives are also seeking the identity of the suspect.
On September 2, 2016 at approximately 11:15 p.m. troopers from Troop E-Montville responded to a reported armed robbery at the Xtra Mart located at 226 Route 2 in North Stonington.
Upon arrival troopers initiated an investigation and searched the area for the suspect. The store clerk reported that a male suspect entered the store, pointed a grey-colored handgun at her and demanded the money from the cash register.
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5’11” tall, with a medium build. The suspect was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, a dark-colored mask, grey camouflage shorts, black sneakers and gloves. The suspect also had a dark blue tattoo on his right calf. The suspect made the store clerk open the cash register, then he pulled the tray out and took an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect fled the Xtra Mart on foot in an easterly direction. Detectives from Eastern District Major Crime responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.
