Cost Of Overdose-Reversal Drugs On The Rise

HARTFORD, Conn. (CBS Connecticut) – The cost of life-saving overdose-reversal drugs has doubled and tripled in recent years. So says Connecticut Senator Richard Blumenthal, who was among officials who participated in a press conference to mark International Overdose Awareness Day at the Legislative Office Building on Wednesday.

The cost of the drugs, which can exceed $3,500 depending on the source and delivery method, has caused some groups to hoard the drugs, according to Shawn Lang, deputy director of the group AIDS Connecticut.
