Teens Accused Of Stealing Cars, Crashing Into Police Cruiser

(CBS Connecticut) — Three teenagers are accused of stealing two cars from Berlin.  A 16-year-old and a 19-year-old later crashed into a Hartford police cruiser after a brief chase.

Hartford officers found a 17-year-old with the other stolen sedan.

Berlin Deputy Police Chief John Klett says Hartford officers arrested all three male suspects.

“Our information at this point is that they had been in two other towns, Newington and Wethersfield, rummaging through vehicles and looking for targets of opportunity,” Klett said.  “They were not successful there, but they were here.”

The teens allegedly found the car keys in a house in Berlin, after they entered through a window screen.
