(CBS Connecticut) — State officials this afternoon celebrated the 4-millionth rider on the CTfastrak busway.
A ceremony was held at the Parkville stop in Hartford.
Department of Transportation Commissioner James Redeker says ridership is still growing.
“We’re happy for the ridership, we are happy for the businesses that are seeing people take the system and use it,” Redeker said. “All that is great for the economy here.”
Last month there were almost 10-thousand local CTfastrak local passenger trips on an average weekday.
The service started in March, 2015.
