(Milford, Conn./CBS Connecticut) – Fire damaged the roof of a Milford manufacturing company this morning.
Fire officials received the call a little after 7:30 a.m. to the Drill Masters-Eldorado Tool company on the Boston Post Road.
They say an employee reported a strange odor of something burning within the building.
An investigation by firefighters later determined there was an active, smoldering fire inside the roof.
A 20-foot-by-12-foot section of roof was opened and the fire was quickly extinguished. There were no injuries.
Firefighters say they were told a crew had been doing work on the roof the day before.
An exact cause of the blaze has yet to be determined. Employees were later let back in the building.
The Milford city fire marshal is investigating.
