CHESHIRE, Conn. (CBS Connecticut) – Cheshire police are seeking the public’s help in identifying an individual suspected of grabbing women. Police say they’ve been investigating a series of similar incidents stretching back to May– all in the area of Cheshire High School and Bartlem Park.
In the most recent incident on Monday, police say a woman walking in the area of Strathmore Drive was approached by a young man who gave her a “bear hug” from behind, threw her to the ground and then grabbed at her buttocks and pulled at her shorts before she was able to push him off of her. The suspect is described by police as a white male, standing 5’9″, in his teens, about 160 pounds, athletically built, tanned, with short dark hair and clean shaven.
Similar incidents were reported in the area of Strathmore Drive in May, and on the Linear Trail and in the Strathmore Drive in early June.
Police are encouraging walkers, joggers and others in the area to use caution, walk with a partner and to report any suspicious activity to authorities.
