No Swimming At Several State Parks

(Hartford, Conn./CBS Connecticut) – A number state swimming areas are off limits for the time being due to higher than normal bacteria levels in the water.

The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection says the water in five parks isn’t suitable for swimming.

The areas closed to swimmers are Silver Sands State Park in Milford, Indian Well State Park in Shelton, Kettletown State Park in Southbury, Wadsworth Falls State Park in Middlefield, and Wharton Brook State Park in Wallingford.

The water will have to be retested before swimming is allowed again.
