Arrest Made In East Hartford Killing

EAST HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) – New York authorities say they have captured a man wanted in connection with a fatal shooting in Connecticut earlier this year.

Syracuse police say 38-year-old James Burrill was arrested Tuesday morning after a regional fugitive task force received information that he was in the area. Officials say he was taken into custody without incident.

Authorities say Burrill will face charges related to the fatal shooting of 33-year-old Jerome Mack Jr., who was found dead in his apartment in East Hartford, Connecticut, on March 25.  Police say Mack was shot in the chest.

The motive for the shooting hasn’t been released.

Police say Burrill is detained pending arrangements for him to be extradited to Connecticut.

It’s not clear if Burrill has a lawyer who could respond to the allegations.
